Finally the Fourth

On Monday morning we had to say goodbye to all of the cousins, leaving ours as the last family left at the Cabin in the Woods with Gram and Pop.

A fun addition to the Cabin in the Woods is Gram and Pop's (sorta) new cat, Minou. I say sorta, because technically Minou is the neighbor's cat, but she spends all of her time at Gram and Pop's house so she is basically a perfect pet for them. All of the perks of having a pet with none of the responsibility! She is excessively affectionate and she LOVED the kids! Loved them! And they all loved her!

Well, except for Ben when she had the audacity to lick him. Lick him! Oh the horror!

Once we saw everyone off, we opted for an indoor activity with a visit to the Naranjo Museum of Natural History in Lufkin since we had all gotten a sunburn at the lake the day before. My kids love science and natural history museums, and they enjoyed this one again (they visited a couple of years ago when Justin and I went on our cruise).

Back at the Cabin in the Woods, Justin and I sneaked off for a few minutes for a sunset 4-wheeler ride down to the lake.

My happy place!

We ended the night with snuggles and Sing! Love these boys so much!

Everyone is relaxed at the Cabin in the Woods!

The next day was finally the 4th, but unfortunately we had to head home to get back to work the next day.

But not without one last swing!

We headed back to College Station with one less child since Jackson was staying for his week with Gram and Pop! We made it home in time to throw a load of laundry into the washer, pick up a few groceries, and then grabbed dinner. We took it to Justin's office and had a little indoor picnic because his parking lot is perfect for watching the fire works! We enjoyed the a/c while waiting for the sun to go down.

Andrew and I walked over to where the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra was performing. It's not really Andrew's thing, but he humored me for a little while anyway.

Finally, we got to see our second fireworks, which was a pretty perfect end to a great holiday weekend!
