Take Me Out to the [Aggie] Ballgame

Last week we headed out to the ol' ballgame with my department at work. The boys were in rare form this evening, excited by the game itself, and showing off for all my work friends. We were playing the Arkansas Razorbacks, and Jackson got warmed up pre-game, smack talking with one of my colleagues who went to Arkansas. He had some well-timed jabs about eating tasty pork chops and bacon that made his mama pretty proud. =)

And see this cute kid? He's letting his daddy carry him into the game in order to reserve his energy for running us ragged during the actual game.

We found our lawn seats and settled in to watch a good game.

The terms "settled" and "watching the game" could only be applied to about the first 5 minutes we were there. Thankfully we had a little help chasing this busy boy around. Thanks, Erin (even if you are a Razorback)!

Ben wasn't the only busy one, but the older two were at least less likely to wander into strangers' personal space and mooch for their popcorn (for the record, we had our own popcorn!).

And yes, hugs that turn into wrestling matches can happen even at baseball games.

The highlight of the game was when the Aggies actually scored a few runs and we got to use our bubbles!

We only made it to the 5th inning thanks to it being a school night and already past the boys' bedtimes, and on account of mom and dad being exhausted from all of the chasing, cajoling and regulating.

As we walked to the car, we discussed how old the kids would be when we can actually watch a game. Ha! The days are long but the years are short, right?
