10th and 11th Days of Christmas (Dallas Christmas)

We headed to Dallas last weekend for the first of our Christmas celebrations with family. We had such a great weekend!

First, we headed to Mesquite and had lunch with Nana, then went to Mesquite's Christmas in the Park.

Jackson checked out the map and created a game plan for the afternoon.

I'm pretty sure I already have the best gifts from Santa's sleigh!

A funny puppet show about fire safety (that Jackson did NOT want to watch but laughed in spite of himself) and ALL the inflatables followed. The biggest hit was the giant slide. After coming down the first time, Andrew threw his little fist in the air and shouted "That was AWESOME!"

My personal favorite attraction though was the petting zoo. Andrew loved the pigs, but Jackson and I preferred the bunnies. Not gonna lie, I almost shoved one in my coat to bring home.

The hayride is always a crowd favorite!

After thoroughly wearing out the boys (and their mom and dad), we went and checked into our hotel and everybody got a nap! We had to recharge for the fun night ahead. After some delicious Mexican food (where Ben consumed his body weight in rice and beans), we went to the Dallas Arboretum's 12 Days of Christmas event. Nana and G-Paw shared this special event with almost all of their grandkids! So fun!

We wound our way through the park to the 12 lighted gazebos that brought the traditional Christmas carol to life. It was really neat! I still haven't figured out why one would give all of that stuff to their true love though!

As we were leaving, Jackson took our picture in front of the giant tree.

Crazy boys!

The next day was Christmas with the whole DFW clan at Aunt Janet's house in Arlington. We had a great time visiting with everyone and of course the boys enjoyed opening their first presents of Christmas!

I have to admit that Justin and I have perhaps played with the Chewbacca mask after the kids have gone to bed. Maybe. ;)

I love everything about this!

And this, friends, is all the proof you need of a great weekend! This is Jackson about 5 minutes after we left Janet's house for the drive home, completely zonked out!
