Fishing at the Pier

By request of the big boys, we headed to the pier on Wednesday of our beach week for a little fishing.

Adjacent to the pier, we had a shark sighting! Watch out Jackson!

It seems that he had a less fortunate encounter with this same shark when we were visiting Fort Walton Beach back in 2011 when he was just 1. My how things change!

Ben and Nana had a little fun too. Andrew didn't want to go anywhere near the shark's mouth. LOL.

What a beautiful view of the beach from the pier!

It was a great day for fishing!

We watched fishermen all around us reel in big and small fish and kept hoping for a nibble. Andrew lost interest but Jackson hung in there and finally their patience paid off!

Just a little one but exciting nonetheless!

And then a little while later another one!

Entertaining us all the while was a pod of dolphins playing nearby. At one point, one swam right under us on the pier!

Ben got a little fussy in his stroller so he then enjoyed his morning nap snuggled up with mom. He was out!

After our fishing adventure, we enjoyed our picnic lunch just off of the pier.

Refreshed from his nap, Ben was happy happy happy! Vacation certainly agrees with him!

That night we headed into Destin for a Target run and frozen custard at Shakes! We used to have one in College Station and we've missed it! Yum!
