9th, 10th and 11th Days of Christmas

Happy ninth day of Christmas Jackson & Andrew! Santa will be here in just 16 days! During Christmas, it is fun to receive gifts, but it is even more fun to give them! After school, go shopping with mom to pick out presents for the whole family!

This was our now traditional trip to Dollar Tree for the boys to pick out treasures for family members. It's always interesting to see what the boys think each family member most definitely needs. Andrew's selections are still wildly random, but Jackson is starting to be pretty good at identifying something that the recipient would enjoy or find useful. I forgot to take any pictures, but that's ok, because they might just spoil the surprise for the recipients, wouldn't it? ;) New this year is that Jackson helped me with the wrapping by writing all of the gift tags!

Happy tenth day of Christmas Jackson & Andrew! Santa will be here in just 15 days! Open the box under the tree and put your puzzling skills to the test!

Just an easy activity on this busy weekday! Christmas puzzles! Jackson is a very good puzzler but he let his brother help.

Benjamin supervised their progress. He doesn't quite have the fine motor skills for puzzles but he's getting pretty good at batting those toys around!

Happy eleventh day of Christmas Jackson & Andrew! Santa will be here in just 14 days! Tonight, we will watch the Christmas story of Jesus come alive! Don't forget your jacket -- it might be chilly on the hayride!

This one was a new one for us, but one that I hope we can repeat! One of the local churches was putting on a narrated hayride of the story of Jesus. What I loved about this is that it told the whole story. During this Christmas season the focus is on the birth of Christ...but we know that the story didn't start...or end...there. The hayride had several scenes starting with Adam and Eve in the garden and the original sin separating us from God, to the prophecy of the Messiah and fulfillment of prophecy with the birth of Jesus, and finally his death and resurrection to save us from that original sin. It was a great visual to illustrate what I've been sharing with the boys about Christmas, connecting the dots of why Jesus was born.

Less than 2 weeks to go now!
