Happy 4th!

Our 4th of July could be summed up in three words: family, lake, and fireworks. It was the perfect blend of relaxing and fun at the Cabin in the Woods.

Jackson was SO excited when he heard that Annabelle and Breelie would be at the Cabin in the Woods for the weekend too. He loves hanging out with the big kids. With the threat of potential rain on the actual 4th, we decided to enjoy the lake on the 3rd just to make sure we didn't miss our opportunity.

Sweet Andrew LOVES the wind in his hair! We rarely see him happier than when Pop is driving the boat fast.

The little ones all took turns tubing...

With my sister-in-law, Ali, and I both expecting, the ladies took it easy lounging on our inflatable island while the kids and men tubed. That is, until the kids (and Pop) showed up after their tubing adventure and quickly turned it into "Ruckus Kid Island".

Back on land, we took it easy waiting for the sun to go down so we could set off some fireworks.

The kids were more than entertained with just sparklers but the men perhaps had even more fun setting off some small fireworks for us.

The next day, the rain was holding off so we headed out to the lake again in the morning.

It started raining late in the afternoon and was pouring as we were driving into town for the fireworks. The radar didn't look promising, and I was worried the show would be cancelled. Jackson assured us that God would stop the rain for the fireworks show and he was right. We got a perfectly timed hour long break from the rain...long enough to sit together to wait for the show to start and then for the show itself. God bless America, indeed! =)
