Telling the Boys

We waited to tell the boys about their new sibling until after our first appointment with the doctor. We knew Jackson would be more than eager to share the news with everyone, so we wanted to be assured that everything with the baby looked good. I think their reaction was pretty perfect!

As predicted, after learning the news, Jackson was delighted to share his news with virtually everyone he encountered. "My mommy is having another baby!" I think his whole school knew within an hour or two after his arrival the next day. We are excited that they are excited!

Officially Outnumbered!

You know I don't just go on a 3 week blogging hiatus for no reason!

Yep! We are expecting #3! As it turns out, growing a human takes a lot of energy and I've been collapsing into bed every night immediately after putting the boys to bed, which significantly cuts into my blogging time.

As a nice reprieve from the misery that is the first trimester, we got to see the new little one at our first OB appointment. The measurements confirmed that September 30th is indeed our due date, and we got to hear the heart beat thump-thumping along at a nice and strong 167 bpm.

We are excited to meet you little one!

Happy Valentine's Day

I may not have endeared myself to the hearts of the boys' friends' parents by giving them a noisy kazoo but Jackson and Andrew were pretty excited to give their Valentines to their friends!

A marriage proposal

Here's a little conversation I had with Jackson when we were snuggling at bedtime:

Jackson: Mommy, I'm going to marry you.

Me: Aww, sorry buddy, I am already taken. Daddy married me first.

Jackson: Well, I'm going to marry you again.

Me: Why do you want to marry me anyway? (thinking, of course, he was going to say that I'm pretty, or smart, or funny...)

Jackson: (very matter-of-factly) Because you're the only one I can find.

Once I stopped laughing, I advised him to not say that to a future potential bride. Gah, love this boy!

He's got skills

A few people have asked how Andrew is doing on his scooter he got for Christmas. I'll let him show you. Keep in mind he is only 2 years and 4 months old. Incredible coordination and balance on display from this little guy!
