15th & 16th Days of Christmas (Cards for Teachers & Shaving Cream Bath)

Monday, December 15, 2014
Happy fifteenth day of Christmas Jackson & Andrew! Santa will be here in just 10 days! Christmas is a time to thank those who help us all year long. Let’s get out the paints and make Christmas Cards to give to your teachers at school.

We did the thumbprint Christmas light design for these cards and I think they turned out so cute! I pre-printed the cards with the little verse and post-it noted off the part where the paint should go. They each have 6 teachers so both boys got a bit bored with the task by the end. Jackson hung in there but Andrew, well, perhaps this activity required a little too much structure for him. He did two thumbprints on each card and then declared that he was "DONE!" No amount of coaxing and bribing could convince him otherwise. So, perhaps my pinky prints finished out Andrew's cards. Oh well, it's the thought that counts, right?

We hung them to dry...

We pulled off the post-its, drew in the wire with a sharpie and voila! Cute cards for teachers! I hope they liked them!

Happy sixteenth day of Christmas Jackson and Andrew! Santa will be here in just 9 days! Have you ever thought it would be fun to look like Santa? During bath tonight, make Santa beards and hair with shaving cream! Ho Ho Ho!!!

Andrew immediately decided this was the best activity ever! Though he went more for the snowman look rather than Santa.

Jackson...not so much! My poor texture-phobe.

He came around though!

But then it really got fun when Daddy climbed in the tub too! (Note: this was not part of "the plan". I'm sitting there snapping pictures and then I hear Justin say "this actually looks fun!". The next thing I know he is in his boxers and climbing in to play with them. Swoon! Gotta love a man who just loves to play with his kids!) The boys thought this was the best thing ever. They had so much fun spraying him with shaving cream and "painting" him all over him.

Yep, that is definitely an activity we have already been asked to repeat.

Later, when I was putting Jackson to bed, I kissed his head and said, "You smell like shaving cream!" He sniffs me and says "You smell...completely ordinary!" Love that funny boy. =)
