Magnificent Magic Kingdom

Our Disney adventure included four days in the parks--Thursday at the Magic Kingdom, Friday at Hollywood Studios, Saturday at Animal Kingdom and Sunday back at the Magic Kingdom. You will not be surprised to learn that I had a detailed itinerary for us each day. Roll your eyes all you want, but we were able to enjoy every attraction at the Magic Kingdom with time to meet characters and take a break in the afternoon to return to the room for naps. We also probably waited in line a total of maybe only 2 hours over the course of the 4 days. Not bad considering the parks were surprisingly crowded while we were there.

Day 1 at the Magic Kingdom started early--with an "Extra Magic Hour" in the morning. Which meant "rope drop" was at 7:45 (which meant we left our room at 6:45!). But we were there for the pre-opening performance and got a glimpse of Mickey and Minnie and Elsa and Anna!

I don't think we could have picked a more beautiful day!

We warmed up with a few tame rides that were fun for all like Winnie the Pooh, Little Mermaid and Dumbo.

Then we thought we would see how Jackson did with a rollercoaster so we rode Barnstormer first. The verdict: He LOVED it. Hands in the air, shrieking and giggling with glee the whole time. When the ride stopped he shouted "CAN WE DO IT AGAIN?" So we did.

Andrew didn't mind riding Dumbo twice while Mr. Adrenaline Junky enjoyed the rollercoaster for a second time.

The love affair with rollercoasters continued on Big Thunder Mountain. The only part he didn't like was the loud click clacking at the very beginning. After that it was all smiles!

Poor Jackson was not a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean...or Haunted Mansion for that matter. This is pretty much what he did the whole time in both.

But mostly, we got to soak in smiles and giggles from these precious faces all day.

A definite highlight of Day 1 was meeting Woody and Jessie!

Andrew was a little wary at first but Jessie won him over.

As we were leaving the park to grab our afternoon naps, we ran into a few familiar faces! How fun!

We returned to Magic Kingdom that evening for dinner, the parade and fireworks.

Jackson now requests for me to sing the "Wishes" song every night at bedtime and I think we have officially ruined them for small town fireworks shows.

It was a long, tiring day, but these two were still laughing at the end of it while we waited for our bus. How's that for Disney magic?
