Brotherly Love

Morning snuggle time in mommy and daddy's bed is always one of my favorite times of the day. On this morning, it was fun to see the connection growing between our two boys.

"Tickle, tickle Andrew"

This is the closest we have gotten to Jackson willingly "holidng" Andrew.

He was so sweet, patting his baby brother on the arm.

Shortly after this picture was taken, he said Andrew was heavy and was hurting his arm. Ha! Perhaps there was some merit to that statement though...Andrew is now about half his size (in weight, anyway) and catching up rapidly!

Cuter Every Day!

I may be just a bit biased, but sweet Andrew just keeps getting cuter!
He looks so big in these jammies! Size 3-6 months and they are not even big on him!
He likes to flirt and "talk" now!

And his hair is growing back in nicely! As are his eyelashes.

He's still a bit suspicious though....

*Pinch, pinch!*

O Christmas Tree

As is our family tradition, we all loaded up on Friday after Thanksgiving to find the perfect trees. It was a cool, blustery day and we enjoyed the fall colors as we drove to the tree farm. We don't have much of a fall here in the Brazos Valley, but the colors and beauty of East Texas can't be beat this time of year!
The tree farm we went to for years had their last season last year, so we had to find a new one. As a relatively new farm, the trees here were a little on the small side but we were able to find a pretty good one.
My sister and her family were searching for the perfect tree too...

As soon as they found it, Tristan was ready to cut it down!
Mom and Dad found their perfect tree too!

Jackson and Annabelle even found a tree that was just their size!
Jackson supervised as Justin cut down our tree.
My hubby is so strong!

Pop brought the trailer to make loading up all the trees easy.
The trees were just gorgeous!
Since we had to go "in town" to get to the tree farm, we decided to stop at the Ag Pond on the SFA campus to feed the ducks.
All of the little ones enjoyed this activity!

Andrew thought it was a little chilly.
Then back over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go...put this big kid right to sleep..
Since Jackson had a cat nap in the car, he was a little grumpy while waiting for lunch so Justin distracted him with Lion King on his phone. It seems that Lion King has a few fans...thank goodness this chair is big enough for 4!
Later, we enjoyed another night around the fire pit and made smores!
They were a hit! Although I think Jackson just ate graham crackers and Breelie just ate marshmallows!

The little girls just adore Aunt MaryAnn!

Andrew and I snuggled near the fire.

When it got a little too chilly, we all went inside to "make Christmas" as Jackson said! I went upstairs to feed Andrew and when I came out, they had started on decorating the tree and Jackson said "Mommy! Look Mommy! We makin' Christmas!"

While I helped with the tree, Aunt Melly had some quality time with the littlest boy. He's such a momma's boy and would hardly let anyone else hold him. But once he conked out, Aunt Melly had some nice snuggles with him.

And Pop got his turn later too...

Jackson may be a tiny bit j-e-a-l-o-u-s...especially when it comes to his Pop. But Pop's arms are big enough for two!

We reluctantly packed up and headed home on Saturday to try to get back to normal before starting another week. Our family has experienced some big changes this year with new faces around the table, but all in all, it was the best family gathering I can remember for a long time. We truly have so much to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble gobble from our littlest turkey on his first Thanksgiving!
I just love this turkey bib. I ordered it off of Etsy for Jackson's first Thanksgiving and I was happy to put it on Andrew this year. Here's a flashback to Jackson's modeling of the turkey bib.
Waiting for Thanksgiving dinner is exhausting....

While our little turkey was napping, our big turkey was enjoying wandering around outside at Grammy and Pop's and riding on the 4-wheeler with daddy.
I wanted to make sure that we got a family picture to commemorate Andrew's first major holiday, so once he woke up from his nap we headed outside for a shot. It was a bit bright.

Finally it was time to eat! We had the kid's table (for the kids and those of us who need to tend to the kids)...

You can't see Jackson's plate, but he had, of course, grilled cheese. I made him a plate with turkey, dressing and all the fixings. He threw a fit and demanded requested grilled cheese. Sigh.
And the table for those who can feed themselves and are not obligated to assist with feeding someone else.
Aunt MaryAnn and Evie
Me and my seester!
All of my siblings and their families were able to make the trip for Thanksgiving this year. What a blessing to have everyone together! There were 17 of us total!

We ended up getting another chance at the family picture, not so bright this time, but Jackson wasn't really feeling it.

Alison, Breelie, Annabelle and Marc

Josh, Melody, Scarlette, Tristan and Evie
Matt and MaryAnn

And the people responsible for all of the rest of us!

The little girls had fun playing in the leaves!

The weather was perfect for a fire in the firepit in the evenings and we all enjoyed roasting marshmellows and hanging out around the fire.

Up next, the family fun continued the next day with our annual trip to the Christmas Tree Farm to find the perfect tree, or trees in our case....
