Rub a Dub Dub, Chub Baby in the Tub

Andrew is filling out quite nicely, if I do say so myself!

"What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a guy with 3 chins before?"

Baby chub is best appreciated au naturale, but if you prefer your cuteness clothed, here's something for you too...

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, we took Jackson to the Pumpkin Patch! He had already been a few weeks ago with Nana, so he was excited to go back.
Isn't this a cute posed picture with the pumpkins? Enjoy it...soak it in. It's the only one we managed to get. =)
Andrew's 1st trip to the Pumpkin Patch!
Checking out the goats.
"This scarecrow is my size!"
Then Jilly and Amber joined us!
Closest we got to a posed picture of the cute friends.
We found a couple of cute Frankensteins...

And a whole group of trick-or-treaters!
The hay maze was the biggest hit though!

Group pictures as a family of four are...interesting!

This boy just loves his daddy.
Happy Halloween from both of our cuties!

Andrew was asleep at the pumpkin patch but we got some pictures of him with his matching pumpkin shirt a little earlier...thanks to Granny and Papa John for the cute shirts!
And a smile!
After the Pumpkin Patch, we went back to our house for some homemade potato soup and Farm Patch chicken salad. And we let these two silly kiddos burn off some more energy...

Family Movie Night

On Friday night, we had our first Family Movie Night. It was a hit!

Jackson and I made cookies while Daddy blew up the air mattress in the middle of the living room. While the cookies were baking, Jackson took his bath and then everyone put on their PJs. We all piled onto the air mattress and watched Toy Story while enjoying our delicious cookies. It was such a fun family night that we already have plans to repeat!

While I was scooping the cookie dough onto the pan, I got a little serenade. This chaos (exuberant toddler, crying baby, and two parents just trying to enjoy it all and keep our sense of humor!) perfectly captures our lives right now...

Life is good...particularly with a little chocolate smudged on your face!

Best Friends

Jackson LOVES his best friend Jillian. Often, when we tell him we are going to do something fun (go to the park, etc.) he asks us, "Jilly come too?" He had been asking for Jilly to come play with his "slide set" with him and on Thursday he got his wish when Jilly and Amber came over. While Amber was making us a delicious dinner, I hung out with these two cute friends in the backyard.

This is Jackson pretending to be a marching band drum major. He was using his glow stick as a mace and he actually had pretty good form as he marched around the back yard! He was telling me "I lead the marching band mommy!"
Pretty girl! I am so envious of her curls!

Silly boy!

Yay for friends!
It makes my heart happy that our kids enjoy being with each other as much as the grown-ups do!

Andrew's First Bath & 3 Weeks

Andrew had his first bath on Sunday, you know, since he got so dirty playing at the park and all. ;)

Naked baby!
He was so good for his bath! He really enjoyed it and just hung out contentedly throughout. Jackson SCREAMED for the duration of his first, short-lived bath, so we didn't quite know what to expect. Andrew has had another bath since this first one and enjoyed it equally. Yay for happy baths!

He was perfectly content even when big brother decided to start blowing his whistle. (The whistle was promptly taken away anyway.) Thankfully, Andrew is already used to Jackson's noisy commotion.

Jackson was excited to help!

Andrew was 3 weeks old today! He spent most of his 3rd week doing this....

Check out those eyelashes!
But he did some of this too!
Blurry because he was moving! He's doing really well picking up his head and pushing up on his arms.

And then back to sleeping...

He got to take his first trip up to my office when we went to campus on Thursday to vote. We were excited to spend some time with my Student Life family and he got some snuggles from the NSFP ladies.
But he spent most of his week in my arms...I wouldn't have it any other way!

I just love this little outfit on him with the dinosaur spikes on the hoodie!
I've started calling him "The Bottomless Pit" because he wants to eat about every hour and a half. Here's to hoping it's a growth spurt and we can at least get on a 2 hour schedule! He's not too fond of the pacifier...he would much rather comfort nurse....which makes it hard for daddy to help with the comforting and so as a result he seems to be quite the momma's boy. He's also a huge fan of white noise. We've spent some quality time with the hair dryer this week, and Justin and I have both added white noise apps to our iPhones. Swaddling makes him mad at first, but helps him settle into a longer, deeper sleep so it's a must! We've already put away all the newborn clothes and he's fitting nicely into 0-3 month outfits. He probably weighs about 10 1/2 pounds already. I keep telling him he can slow down with this whole growing and changing so fast thing, but he doesn't appear to be listening. But at least he just keeps getting sweeter, too!
