Take a little off the top, please...

Remember Jackson's sweet curls from this post? As cute as they were, his hair was starting to get majorly unruly and Justin and I definitely prefer the "clean cut" look for little boys. So it was time for Jackson's first haircut. Justin and I go to the same salon and see the same stylist, so naturally, Jackson had to go see Ms. Amy too! Here's some before pictures from our short wait in the waiting area of the salon...

Clearly, babies don't do too well wearing capes. So mommy got to wear the cape!

He was pretty indifferent about the whole thing. And I didn't cry! Amy saved some of his precious curls for us and they are now safely tucked away in his memory box.

Bless Ms. Amy! He did not want to sit still!

It's hard work trying to keep that little boy relatively still! So I tagged Justin in.

Looking good...

Add a little hair gel...

Love the faux-hawk!

He was beyond done by this point but looked like such a cool guy!

So, thanks Ms. Amy for keeping our whole family looking good!

The Beach...when can we go back?

On the last full day in Destin, my mom wanted to get a pic of the whole family out on the beach. We waited a little too late in the morning (it was 9 am! we thought we were doing pretty good!) to try to take the picture so the sun was really bright, but we got a picture of the whole clan nonetheless.

We decided to head out with my brother Matt and his fancy camera at sunset to try and get some good shots of Jackson and our family on the beach. I love love love these pics. Thanks, Matt!

This little series may be my fave. The look on his face just says that he knows he's the little prince and, quite literally, has mommy and daddy wrapped around his little fingers!

Swoon!

And we had to get some with the photographer too!

Check out those curls!!
We loved our trip to the beach and all of the family time. Jackson loved it and did so good coming and going that it's easy for us to count down the days until we can go again!

Meet my big brother!

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner again for her "Show us Your Singles" extravaganza. This time, I am excited to introduce you to one of my favorite people in the world...my big brother! When I was little, I absolutely thought he hung the moon. I think my instincts were correct--he's quite the catch, ladies!

Meet Matt:

The Basics: Matt is 36 years old and lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He has two degrees, a great job as the Director of Sales and Marketing for a financial services company, and is really good at what he does. He has a very healthy and active lifestyle and is currently doing triathalons (crazy man!) He loves all things outdoors: biking, hunting, boating, fishing, camping, you name it. He believes in living life to its fullest and definitely isn't afraid to try new things.

The Intangibles:
As the oldest of 4 children, Matt has always been "the responsible one". He takes care of the people he loves. He's incredibly generous. He loves Jesus. He has a fabulous, sarcastic sense of humor. He's a great cook and will ALSO do the dishes afterwards! He loves kids and is great with them. He's nurturing and fun and my son absolutely adores him! He's incredibly authentic--he will tell you what he thinks. He's real. He's ready to meet "the one". Could it be you?

High Flying

On Friday, we just hung out, not doing much of anything in the morning. In the afternoon, we decided to shake things up a bit. I have wanted to go parasailing for a long time...it was a "bucket list" item and Justin was sweet enough to endulge me! My brother, Marc and sister in law, Crystal joined us for the adventure.

We had a fantastic time! It wasn't what I expected...it was fun and definitely lived up to my expectations but I think I expected it to be more of an adrenalin rush and in reality it was really quite leisurely! I highly recommend it!

Almost our turn!

lift off!

awesome view!

Coming down for a little dip.

Then it was Marc and Crystal's turn!

Getting ready...
I think maybe Crystal was a tiny bit nervous. =)

Thanks for joining us on our adventure guys!

Next the fam headed to dinner at a local seafood & sushi restaurant, Harbor Docks. I highly recommend it if you are ever in Destin. We sat out on the porch and it was wonderful! All of our meals were delicious and with the perfect beach vacation ambience. Here's the view we got to enjoy during dinner:

Then we headed to one of the condos to spend some time with the extended family.

I think Pop has his hands full!

Jackson loves his Uncle Matt!

Next up, lots more cute beach pictures!
